Is there any point to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? If I closed all of them, would anyone notice?

I’ve signed up for Twitter… again.
I’m not proud of this.
It was something I had been considering for a while. Should I stay with Twitter, or should I drop it? There were some aspects of Twitter I liked, but still a lot more that I did not like. In the end, after watching another person’s Twitter issues, I decided that I had enough and closed my account.
I shut down my Twitter account. I felt that there was just too many limitations and “secret” rules to maintain it.
Recently, I had been following
@ComicBookGrrl on Twitter. The tweets, written by very talented author Blake Northcott, have been witty and fun to read. Basically, they have been exactly what we should be reading on Twitter. At least, I had been following her until this weekend when Twitter decided to suspend her account. According to Blake, she was told that she was following too many people.
So, I can’t seem to understand why this has happened. I don’t seem to remember Twitter ever mentioning an upper limit of how many people you can follow on Twitter. I also don’t seem to understand why her account was suspended when every other “follower” I pick up seems to be either a spammer or a pornbot. Case in point, my latest follower is @CurrentClinica, who seems to be nothing more than a pretty face and a long list of tweets listing various medical books. This person is allowed to continue tweeting.
Frankly, if this can happen to one person who did not really do anything wrong, this can happen to anyone for any reason. It’s scary to even think about it.
I do recommend that anyone with Twitter should follow her once she gets back up. In the meantime, many of her fans are working to convince Twitter to reinstate her by tweeting #BringBackComicBookGrrl and #BringBackBlake as a show of support for her.
