Picks of the Week – May 14, 2014

I got a lot to talk about it, so let’s get right to it.

Batman Eternal #6 (DC Comics) – Batwing comes onto the scene as Batman gets a visit from Jim Corrigan.  And if Corrigan is around, then the Spectre can’t be too far behind, which means big trouble.

Superman: Doomed (DC Comics) – The Superman crossover begins with the release of Superman: Doomed #1, which pits the Man of Steel against one of his most dangerous villains.  The story continues in Action Comics #31 and Superman Wonder Woman #8, where we see the most unexpected side effects of the battle with Doomsday.

Green Lantern Corps #31 (DC Comics) – The Durlan led attack on Mogo has failed.  Now the stolen rings are returning to their owners, all prisoners of the Khunds.  And, the return of a long lost Lantern.

New 52: Futures End #2 (DC Comics) – In the future of the New 52 universe, the heroes gather for the funeral of their fallen ally.

Astro City #12 (DC Comics/Vertigo) – Meet James Carroway, a “clotheshorse.”  This issue tells the story of the rise and fall of one of the dapper villains of Astro City.

The Walking Dead #127 (Image Comics) – Time has passed since the climactic events of the previous issue.  The world is still overrun with the walking dead.  But, somehow, our intrepid band of survivors are not only living, but flourishing.
