Game Played – Castle Ravenloft
Recently, in my latest pursuit of board games, I had picked up Castle Ravenloft, one of the Dungeons and Dragons board games. I picked it up mostly because it has solo play.
One thing to know about this game, the box is huge. But then, it is set up to hold everything for a number of different games. The scenarios for these games are given in a separate adventure book that the game provides (new adventures are also available at the Dungeons and Dragons website). This is one of the disappointing things about this game, at least for the solo player. There are only two adventures that are designed for solo players.
Granted, because the game board is set up by placing dungeons tiles, even these two scenarios are replayable since the game board will change with each game. But, I still would like to have seen some of the adventures have a bit more flexibility with character limits. I guess I’ll just have to see if I can get people together to try one of the other adventures.
