Picks of the Week – March 13, 2013

It’s been one of those weeks.  A short weekend along with a long work week.  And, I discovered that a former co-worker is on the same dating site I’m on (or used to be on, if I decide to, well, run).

At least it’s Wednesday, and I have a bunch of new comics.

Suicide Squad #18 (DC Comics) – Sibling rivalry rockets to new levels as the Suicide Squad goes up against Regulus and Red Orchid, the sister of Yo-Yo.  We learn who the package is and why he is so important, and a member falls.

Green Lantern Corps #18 (DC Comics) – The First Lantern gets a hold of Green Lantern John Stewart and Star Sapphire Fatality and really begins to mess with both their minds.  Like other issues in this crossover, we see the divergent realities of these two characters who have been so entwined.

Batman & Robin #18 (DC Comics) – Part of the Requiem for the fallen Damien (Robin) Wayne, we watch Batman try to deal with his grief for his fallen son.  This issue stands out since it is a silent issue, adding that much more to this very sad look into the life of Batman without Robin.

Batman #18 (DC Comics) – Robin’s requiem continues as one person recognizes the destructive path the dark knight is on in the wake of the death of his son, and she wants to help him deal with it.

Batgirl #18 (DC Comics) – Barbara Gordon barely has a chance to let the death of Robin sink in as she continues to death with Firebug and her own villainous brother.

Wolverine #1 (Marvel Comics) – I have to be honest, I have started to lose track of all the Wolverine books, along with the Wolverine appearances in other team books, so on and so forth.  But, this one stands out this week.  Wolverine makes a fatal decision in dealing with a man with a supertech weapon.  Now Wolverine must deal with the man’s young son.
