Any writer will tell you that inspiration can strike anywhere at any time.  Naturally, most writers will make sure that they are ready for these ideas whenever they may strike.

For me, there are 5 things I always keep with me to further my writing.

I find it astounding that there are some books that I cannot read, though I will watch TV series and movies based off them.  Case in point, I have attempted to read A Game of Thrones twice.  The furthest I have gotten is someplace shy of page 100.  Yet, I have devoured HBO series, working through Season One and with only four more episodes left in Season Two.

Is there any book that you have not been able to read, though you can watch the story presented in other media?

Question to the Audience

I’m throwing this out to everyone out there.  As you know, I am not the most social person in the world, which is something that often bugs me.  But, I do recognize that there are certain circumstances of my life that do not tend to lend themselves to helping me being social, and I don’t mean my own crippling lack of self esteem.  I work nights, which tends to limit when I can do social things.  Worse still, part of my work week encompasses Fridays and Saturdays, which tend to be the “date nights” of the week.

Thus my question.

What is the best way to meet people given my particular circumstances?

Evil Dead II

There’s something out there. That… that witch in the cellar is only part of it. It lives… out in those woods, in the dark… something… something that’s come back from the dead.

Saturday Songs – February 23, 2013

With much of the country blanketed in snow, and with the Northeast’s blizzard of 2013 behind us… and more snow ahead of us, I thought it would be appropriate to pick a cool song that looks like it was shot in all that snow.

Thus I present for your consideration Lindsey Stirling and Crystallize.

Wondering Why

Those of you who read my Picks of the Week post may remember that I had an issue with my laptop.  For the record, the problem is either the back light, the inter-something or another, or the screen itself.  I am thinking not the screen so much since everything was still working on the screen, it was just dark.

Anyway, a busy schedule and and impending bad weather is preventing me from having the issue diagnosed and repaired until Monday at the earliest.  So, I did the next best thing and bought a new monitor to work with the laptop until I can get it fixed.

Right now I have the new monitor in and I have to say I’m not sure if I want to stop using the monitor with the laptop.

Picks of the Week – February 20, 2013

It’s been one of those weeks.  Still aching from the Blizzard of 2013, and the back light on my laptop screen has burned out (at least, I think it’s just the back light).

At least it’s a new comics day.

5 Great DC Animated DVDs

It seems interesting that for a company that has not been able to stick a landing in the theaters (the Batman movies excluded),  DC Comics’ animated DVDs are head and shoulders above the competition (namely, Marvel).  Given the choice, I would much rather watch any of the DC titles that have come out on DVD than the few Marvel titles, most of which have just been pretty bad.

For those who are looking for a good watch, and are not sidled with the conception that animation is only for children, I have a few suggestions for you.
