Saturday Songs – September 22, 2012

We swing back into the 1980s this week.  It was a glorious time for music, at least, for music that was infectiously catchy.  It was also the era that gave birth to the music video, MTV, and probably is the last decade of the one hit wonders.

Not that Madness actually counts as a one hit wonder by definition.  The British band had a lot of hits, though most were in the U.K.  In the United States, they are most likely known for one song, which is why they are mistakenly thought of as a one hit wonder.

Our House was released in 1982.  It was a catchy little song that, I really have to admit, I still sing along with when it comes up in the shuffle.

Our House, along with other songs and albums from Madness are available on iTunes.
