I Really Miss This One

Way back in the day, I remember checking out the old Marvel Super Heroes role-playing game.  I never really got a chance to play it, since I never really had many friends who were into role-playing games of any kind, let alone the Marvel game.  But I liked it, and definitely prefer it over the other super hero role-playing games that were out at that time, or have come out since.

I think the main reason why I preferred it was the random nature of creating heroes.  Sure, you could pick out a set concept and tweaked the power base to work with your idea.  But, and this is what I found to be the most fun, you could leave the whole thing to random chance.  With the roll of the dice, you could be working on a mutant with fire powers, or an alien who shot electricity.  The excitement came from imaging a hero which could encompass the random set of powers, origin, and  abilities, especially when the picks that came up could be so seemingly contradictory.

So, for fun, I decided to post a power set and see what people could come up with it.  The rolls were completely at random (there are actually a few freeware programs that will do this for you).  I have left off the ability ranks, since it would take a lot longer to explain.

The character set:

Physical Form – Humanoid Race

Origin – Maturity

Weakness – Energy Allergy (power negation continuous with contact)

Powers – Telelocation, Bio-Vampirism, Mental Probe, Resist: Magic, Shadowcasting, Waterbreathing, Power Duplication,

Talents – Heavy Weapons, Stealth

Contacts – Small Business, Travel, Communications

I’ll post what I come up with in the next couple of days.
