Pet Peeves About Online Games

As anyone who’s read this blog may have figured out, I play a lot of games.  I’m not necessarily good at them, but I play them.  And, like a lot of people, I have gotten into my fair share of online games.  In this case, I don’t mean World of Warcraft or the (sadly) defunct City of Heroes, I mean those annoying Facebook games that you start playing and can’t stop.  Either those, or the app games you download to your phone (or, in my case, iPod touch) and play.  And, I have had fun with a lot of these games, for a while, until I get bored or I get ticked off.  A lot of times, they just tick me off.

5 Good Songs with Bad Videos

The wonder of music is that the experience often goes beyond the auditory.  Listeners often will envision the song they are listening to in their own way.  Even with the creation of the music video, that experience still stands, though now, what we envision for a song may be drasticly different from what some random director decided what visuals should go with the song.

And, sadly, there are some great songs that are sidled with videos that are, well, crap.

5 From My Twitter Follow List

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Twitter.  On one hand, I hate the limited word count and how so many people use it as just a means of promoting their own stuff.  On the other hand, I love the fact that I can promote this blog on my Twitter feed to the 80 people who actually follow me.

Since my random moments of wanting to drop Twitter, I have realized that there are actually a few Twitter feeds I would miss I dropped Twitter (again).

5 Things I Don’t Do

There are a few things I should enumerate (first time I ever used it in a sentence, yay me!).  There are five things that I do not do.

1. Fly – If God had meant me to fly, he would have given me the bitchin’est set of kickass wings that anyone ever had.  But he did not.  Why?  He did not want me to fly.
2. Dance – I don’t dance.  I’m not sure if I can’t keep a beat, or if I just can’t dance, but I don’t dance.
3. Ride Roller Coasters – I really have no crazy desire to see my lunch come back up anytime soon.
4. Bungee Jump – Similar to roller coasters, though this time, I have no desire to see my lunch fall out of me by means of gravity.
5. Flirt – This is mostly because I just really suck at it.

Naturally, there are always caveats to any list like this.  There are, in certain situations, certain parameters which will get me to do some of these things.

But that is a topic for another post.

5 People You Don’t Want To Meet On A Dating Site

It you have never used an online dating site, then congratulations, you don’t feel like a complete loser.  But, for the rest of us, there are a number out there to try.  But, just like in real life, there are a number of people you do not want to run into.

Let me preface this list: I am pulling from personal experience, so all of my references will be feminine in nature.  But, I am positive that there are a ton of women out there who have run into the male equivalents.

5 Soda Flavors I Miss

Some time ago, more years than I care to remember, I decided that I would try to get into shape.  That… didn’t take.  But, in that process, I did make a decision that has stuck to me even today.  I had decided to eliminate sodas from my diet.  Not just the usual delicious normal sodas, but even the icky aftertaste diet ones too.  Since I made that decision, I have not had any sort of fizzy drink.

Still, there are some flavors that I do miss.

5 Songs That Always Stop Me Flipping

For a while now, I have been spoiled.  My current car, though not great in the snow, does have one feature that my Jeep did not have: satellite radio.  Even with connections for iPods, I will still find myself listening to the radio, and flipping a lot.  I will cycle through my programmed stations searching for something to listen to.  But there are also a few songs that will get me to stop flipping.  A couple of them will even make me turn my car into a rolling karaoke club.

 

Saturday Songs – Special Valentine’s Edition
