NaNoWriMo 2011 Word Count – Sunday Part 1

Currently sit at 39,029 words.  At this point, the story is beginning to get close to wrapping up.  And by wrapping up, I mean the discovery of what the big bad has been doing during spring break, the assault on the archive, the kidnapping of the female lead, the plan to trap the big bad and rescue the female lead, the final battle, and the resolution to the sub plot of who was trying to kill the main character originally.

I’m also looking to add in an epilogue, mostly because of an idea that popped into my head that really isn’t relevant to the main story, but could make a fun little wrap up.

NaNoWriMo 2011 – Saturday word count

Currently up to 36,772 words.  Added anoter chapter which brought in more zombie candidates for the main villain, and spruced up the other chapter I added yesterday.

NaNoWriMo 2011 Word Count – Friday

Current word count is at 33,607.  A lot of tonight’s work was from addind details needed to make the later chapters work, including a whole chapter showing the principle villain creature starting his “zombie army.”

NaNoWriMo 2011 Word Count – Thursday

Short writing night because of an early morning vet appointment.  Word count is currently at 30,632.  The biggest problem is that I keep going back because I need to add elements to make sure they make sense when they appear later in the story.

NaNoWriMo Word Count – Weekday edition

Not as productive as the weekend (or rather my weekend).  I managed to bring my word count up to 27,493, but the story is losing a bit of its momentum.  I may have to go back in and elaborate on some of the objects Russell finds in storage.

NaNoWriMo 2011 Word Count Update

I decided to leave off the day count since I lost count of the days due to the power outage and I have a tendency to write late night/early morning.

Currently, after one psycho night of writing, my word count is at 25,480.  All the parts are in for the second half of the story.

Surprisingly, the one novel I have absolutely no intention of publishing is the one that is practically writing itself.

NaNoWriMo 2011 Day 6 Word Count Update

Taking advantage of the quiet Sunday night, I managed to boost my word count to a whopping 17,670 words.  I even managed to work in NaNo mainstay the travelling shovel of death.

“You should just be lucky I don’t have that shovel with me.”

“The Travelling Shovel of Death?” the Man in Black asked, “where is that thing now, anyway?”  J shrugged his shoulders.  No one at DAO had any idea where the shovel had disappeared to this time.

So, on the check list of things to include in this NaNoWriMo:

  1. Reference to the romance novel Bedded By Her Lord – check (chapter 1)
  2. Reference to the Travelling Shovel of Death – check (above)
  3. Inclusion of a real author – Craig Shaw Gardner is forthcoming
  4. A Trebuchet – Still an opening for this one
  5. Reference to a word count – check (one character makes reference to another character’s name being so long because someone is trying to make a word count)

NaNoWriMo 2011 Word Count – Day 5

Writing went a bit psycho tonight as I managed to tack on over 3,000 words to bring my total to 14,253 words.  I really have not even begun to explore the archive that the main character finds himself in.  But I have managed to introduce nearly all of my principles by this point.

The only thing I have to do is a bit more research into LL Cool J songs.

NaNoWriMo 2011 Day 4 Word Count

Managed to reach a word count of 10,764.  At this point, the main character has just gotten out of his initial complication, and I managed to throw in a passing line about how one character’s name is so long that it seems like it’s meant to boost a word count.

NaNoWriMo Day 3 Word Count

I managed to hit a word count of 8,002, and managed to mention one of the story’s main action character, the Man in Black.  In spite of losing some time from the Nor’Easter, things are flowing pretty smoothly.
