Pet Peeves About Online Games

As anyone who’s read this blog may have figured out, I play a lot of games.  I’m not necessarily good at them, but I play them.  And, like a lot of people, I have gotten into my fair share of online games.  In this case, I don’t mean World of Warcraft or the (sadly) defunct City of Heroes, I mean those annoying Facebook games that you start playing and can’t stop.  Either those, or the app games you download to your phone (or, in my case, iPod touch) and play.  And, I have had fun with a lot of these games, for a while, until I get bored or I get ticked off.  A lot of times, they just tick me off.

5 From My Twitter Follow List

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Twitter.  On one hand, I hate the limited word count and how so many people use it as just a means of promoting their own stuff.  On the other hand, I love the fact that I can promote this blog on my Twitter feed to the 80 people who actually follow me.

Since my random moments of wanting to drop Twitter, I have realized that there are actually a few Twitter feeds I would miss I dropped Twitter (again).

Searching For Ideas

I’m realizing that after 850 some odd (okay, mostly odd) posts, I am starting to run low on ideas.  Not Picks of the Week, I will always have those, except on a bad comics week.  And I have a number of selections for my Saturday Songs already lined up.  But, that only takes care of two days out of the week, and I want to keep posting daily until I hit 1,000.

So, I have four choices.

1. Turn to the audience for ideas.  I mean, come on, you must have something out there.
2. Post a Frequently asked questions post.  This is a little difficult since the most common question I’m asked is, “Do you want to see my special webcam?”
3. Post the secret post that I have in reserve, lest in reserve because the topic is that off-color.
4. Start posting chapters of one of my NaNoWriMos.  Since none of them have been edited, these posts would be very rough.

It you have never used an online dating site, then congratulations, you don’t feel like a complete loser.  But, for the rest of us, there are a number out there to try.  But, just like in real life, there are a number of people you do not want to run into.

Let me preface this list: I am pulling from personal experience, so all of my references will be feminine in nature.  But, I am positive that there are a ton of women out there who have run into the male equivalents.

5 Things To Do When The Internet Is Out

Thanks to a minor wind storm (and possibly some damage from a slightly careless tree removal person), our household is experiencing cable internet difficulties the likes of which will probably not get resolved until Tuesday (hopefully).  In the meantime, rather than trying to finish off a mission or two in the brief periods of time in which the connection is good, I thought it would be a good idea to consider a few things that can be done without the internet.
