Picks of the Week – January 16, 2013
After a brief warm spell, Connecticut got hit with snow this Wednesday. Thank goodness it had no effect on New Comics Day.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
Death Of The Family (DC Comics) – This latest Bat-title event has brought back the Joker in a truly shocking fashion. This week’s titles (Batman, Batman and Robin, Batgirl) draw closer to the event’s shocking conclusion.
Threshold #1 (DC Comics) – DC Comics launches their latest anthology title (not to be confused with Avatar Press’ old Threshold anthology) with two new tales. In the headliner, renegade Green Lantern Jediah Caul finds himself on a galactic reality show where he is the prey. Backing up this story is a Larfreeze solo tale.
Savage Wolverine #1 (Marvel Comics) – In this first issue, Wolverine finds himself in the dangerous part of the Savage Land (as if the rest of it was all that peaceful), teaming up with Shanna the She-Devil. Writer/Artist Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows, Shanna The She-Devil) weaves a great story that will pull you into the adventure.
All-New X-Men #6 (Marvel Comics) – It’s culture shock time for our time displaced heroes as Jean deals with her new leading position, Scott deals with a world that knows him as a terrorist (and Wolverine), and Angel meets his present self.
