Picks of the Week - August 1, 2012

 

It’s a new month, and a new Wednesday, it’s time for some new comics.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Action Comics #12 (DC Comics) – The New 52 turns one year old as Superman confronts the forgotten first Superman with Lois’ life in the balance.  Can Superman stop him and save Lois?  And what happens when Superman’s new identity is believed dead?

Animal Man #12 (DC Comics) – One of the breakout books of the New 52 moves into its second year with a crossover with this month’s Swamp Thing.  To save the world, Buddy Baker and Alex Holland must travel deep into the heart of the Rot.

Swamp Thing #12 (DC Comics) – This issue concludes the Rotworld Prologue crossover with Animal Man.  To slow down the Rot, Abby must close the portal between our world and the Rot.  Can the Swamp Thing and Animal Man escape?  And, to what do they escape to?
