Picks of the Week – December 7, 2011
Back after a brief hiatus while I participated in the National Novel Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo), we have the picks of the week for December 7th, 2011.
Action Comics #4 (DC Comics) – the New 52 rolls into month number four as Superman faces an army of metal men lead by a mechanically enhanced John Corben. Fortunately, Superman finds an ally in… Steel.
Animal Man #4 (DC Comics) – Buddy Baker learns more about his daughter’s powers and his own. Animal Man begins to tie in with other titles as Baker learns that he and his daughter have a connection to Alec (Swamp Thing) Holland.
Batwing #4 (DC Comics) – Another well written issue from the New 52′s surprise comic, this issue explores the past of the man who is Batwing.
Penguin Pain and Prejudice #3 of 6 (DC Comics) – The Penguin falls in love.
Swamp Thing #4 (DC Comics) – In pursuit of William Arcane, Alec Holland has a dream meeting with the Parliament of Trees. This issue, along with Animal Man, begin to create the greater mythology of these books with more information about their common enemy: the Rot.
X-Factor #228 (Marvel Comics) – It’s X-Factor against Bloodbath, with Madrox already fallen. Can Layla Miller save him?
Villains for Hire #1 of 4 (Marvel Comics) – The Purple Man has assembled a team for a heist. But, who has assembled their own team of villains to go after the same target?
