A while ago, I mentioned I was creating a Women Rock playlist for my iPod. After careful analysis, I have created the preliminary list. I call it preliminary because, like any list, it is open to being appended.

- My Destiny – Leaves’ Eyes (Liv Kristine lead singer)
- Energize Me – After Forever (Floor Jansen lead singer)
- Tourniquet – Evanescence (Amy Lee lead singer) - I could have used something from the new album, or Bring Me To Life, but I decided to got deeper into the first album for this one.
- Heaven’s A Lie – Lacuna Coil (Cristina Scabbia lead singer)
- The Metro – Berlin (Terri Nunn lead singer) - 80s rock
- Crushcrushcrush – Paramore (Hayley Williams lead singer)
- Amaranth – Nightwish (Frontwoman Anette Olzon)
- Nemo (Orchesreal version) – Nightwish (Frontwoman Tarja Turunen) – Nightwish is on here twice because both leads rock
- Behind These Hazel Eyes – Kelly Clarkson – She can hold her own in any music genre.
- Kiss Me Deadly – Lita Ford
- You Oughta Know – Alanis Morissette
- Chemicals React – Aly & AJ – Part of the “screw you, I like them” category
- Supernova – Liz Phair – one of her “safer” songs to use
- Volcano Girls – Veruca Salt
- Angry Johnny – Poe
- In The Light – Full Blown Rose - Probably better own for the theme sing to the TV show Tru Calling
- Let Go – BarlowGirl
- Take Me Away – Fefe Dobson
- Stupid Girl – Garbage (Shirley Manson lead singer)
- My Happy Ending – Avril Lavigne
- Here & Now – Letters to Cleo (Kay Hanley lead vocals)
- Frozen – Madonna - I am not a big Madonna fan, but every once in a while she comes out with a song that makes me say, “now that’s cool”
- The Warrior – Scandal (frontwoman Patty Smyth)
- You Keep Me Hangin’ On – Kim Wilde - The song choice was down to this or Kids in America
- Ballroom Blitz – Tia Carrere – This was from the Wayne’s World soundtrack
- Fallen Angel – Traci Lords – yes, that Traci Lords, this song appeared on the sountrack for the movie Virtuosity.
- The Dreams of Candlelight – Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Patti Russo singer) – Primarily known for their Christmas music, TSO released Beethoven’s Last Night, telling the story of the night Beethoven died. Patti Russo, who often worked with Meatloaf, sang this song on the CD.
- Call Me – Blondie (Debbie Harry lead singer)
- Heartbreaker – Pat Benatar
- Barracuda – Heart
- Somebody to Love – Jefferson Airplane (frontwoman Grace Slick)
- I Love Rock ‘n Roll – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
