Picks of the week – August 11
Just a few of the stand outs from this week’s comics pull
New Avengers 15 (Marvel Comics) – This Fear Itself tie-in focuses on Squirrel Girl, the nanny for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones’ baby. This issue stands out as an interesting look at a character that has, let’s face it, been looked at as a bit of a joke.
PunisherMax 16 (Marvel Comics) – The latest storyline, Frank, wraps up with the dual storylines of Punisher’s capture and imprisonment and the flashback story of the events leading up to the birth of The Punisher.
War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath 2 (DC Comics) – The Corps still deals with the repercussions of the events of the War and the complete shake-up of the status quo. Events in this issue, and this series, will definitely be felt even after the DC restart in September.
